August 2024 Prelaw Advisor Newcomers Training
A year-long journey into prelaw advising. Designed primarily for those with <2 years of advising experience, though anyone is welcome, we'll help you find your footing.
Want to gain confidence in the advising work you do on campus? Whether you're brand new, relatively new, or have some years under your belt, many prelaw advisors wonder how they can get everything done that's asked of them. This training will help you develop your prelaw knowledge, connect with peers, and find your footing.
The training takes place in August over a four-week period and is a mixture of live and asynchronous learning. Starting in September, you'll have the opportunity to connect virtually with your peers each month. From inspirational talks to discussion sessions, these additional monthly sessions will help you to strengthen the relationships you start to build in August.

Four weeks of content that will build knowledge, community, and confidence. Each week has on-demand content, live educational content, and live Ask an Expert sessions. The on-demand content will be released the Thursday the week before. The live educational will be each Tuesday at 2pm ET. The live Ask an Expert session will be each Thursday at 2pm ET.
Opportunities to continue to build a community of prelaw advisors you can turn to for advice, support, and learning. Some months there may be LSAC updates we want to share with the cohort, and other times you will get to set the agenda.
Some of the live components will be recorded. The Tuesday events, which are characterized by learning content, will be recorded and published with a transcript as soon as practicable. The Thursday events, which will be free-flowing Q&A, will not be published later to encourage open participation. But don't worry, if you miss one week and still have questions, you can ask the following week. Finally, recordings for the monthly events will not be published.
The August on-demand and recorded live-session content will be available through March 2025.
We selected an affordable and fair price for a year-long program of significant professional development.
